Do Chimpanzees use language?

Source:

Ever wondered how do chimpanzees communicate? Since many people believed in evolution [human beings evolved from chimpanzees], so can we derive at the point that chimpanzees communicate like human? Chimpanzees do have a distinct similarity as humans. Then let me direct this question to you: Do these human-alike animals use language?

It’s an irony that if human beings evolved from chimpanzees, how can we can talk yet they can’t…

The vocals of chimpanzees cannot produce speech, thus they can't pronounce any words. Nevertheless, a chimpanzee still can make sounds like groans, cries, screams, and noises that sound like gasping or panting. Although their hearing does not allow them to distinguish the sounds in complex spoken language, chimpanzees do communicate a variety of messages by glances, by expressions, and by postures and an assortment of calls and vocal noises. The wide range of expressive techniques that chimpanzees use could well be described as a language.

Therefore, these actions are the way they communicate.
Facial expressions:

When excited or surprised, chimpanzee would scream with mouth agape. (Humans does that too)

A chimpanzee would hoot when it discovers plenty of food or when he meets other chimpanzee. (Watch out for this expression; if you see this, do it also means that the chimpanzee thinks you're another one too? lol?)

A subordinate chimpanzee bares its teeth when it is startled, afraid, or approaching a dominant individual.

A scowl indicates that a chimpanzee is about to threaten or attack an adversary. The chimpanzee makes no sound, but the hair on its head stands on end. (Beware of this! Run when you see chimpanzee like that!)

Like human beings, besides talking and facial expressions, body languages matters alot too. The way the body, hands, and arms used are important for chimpanzee communication.

Body languages:

A male drags a branch around to intimidate a clan member or enemy. (Take note that only male chimpanzee does that, female are just to gentle. )

Chimpanzees are also very respectful. When greeting its superior, a small chimpanzee would extend its hand as it bends low to the ground in a bow. (like kow-towing)

Kisses are used to greet relatives and close friends. Chimpanzee parents often exchange kisses with their offspring, which strengthens their bond.

Chimpanzees are also very protective over their area of land and family members. They would just use a shaking, outstretched arm to repel intruders.

A chimpanzee shows it wants some of the companions’ food by gazing intently and holding out a hand, (and the other while being selfish, aviod and acts blurr pretending not to see the hand)
